Our Story
NoobCare began from a deeply personal place. Our founder, Sarah Chen, found herself suddenly responsible for her mother's care after an unexpected health crisis. Despite a successful career in healthcare technology, she was completely unprepared for the complexity of navigating the parent care journey.
After months of sleepless nights, confusing medical appointments, and difficult family conversations, Sarah realized there was a massive gap in resources for adult children who were new to caregiving—the "noobs" of parent care.
"I kept thinking, 'I can't be the only one feeling completely lost.' I had three degrees and still couldn't figure out how to help my mom navigate Medicare. Something was broken in how we prepare people for this universal life stage."
In 2021, Sarah brought together a small team of healthcare professionals, elder care experts, and fellow adult children who had navigated their own parent care journeys. Together, they created NoobCare to provide the straightforward guidance and practical support they wished they'd had themselves.
